Golf Tournament
Thursday, June 27
Please join us on Thursday, June 27 for the annual Porsche Parade Golf Tournament. This year we will be playing The Bear golf course at Grand Traverse Resort. The Bear is a par 72, links-style, Jack Nicklaus designed course. The course was the home of the state’s oldest and most prestigious tournament, the Michigan Open Championship from 1985 through 2008.
The Bear has Scottish-like terraced fairways, tiered greens, deep grassy roughs, moguls and mounds and deep pot bunkers. There are also lakes and ponds among hardwood forests, streams and fruit orchards. The wildlife you might see are deer, ducks, geese, blue herons, swans, muskrats, raccoons, and foxes.
Our Golf Tournament sponsor this year is Bridgestone.
This is the same golf course that we played at the 1989 Parade, and if you were there you remember it is challenging yet, lots of fun!
If you don’t want to bring your clubs (or they won’t fit in the car), clubs are available for rent at the course.
The scramble format tournament is a shotgun start at 8:00 am, with the driving range and putting greens available for practice before tee- off. After the tournament we will have a catered lunch at the clubhouse and trophies will be awarded.
